This Nursing Home Part A PPS Discharge (NPE) Item Set is encoded and transmitted to iQIES when a resident is discharged from a Part a PPS Stay. This Discharge assessment is completed when a resident’s Medicare Part A stay ends, but the resident remains in the facility (unless it is an instance of an interrupted stay). The Part A PPS Discharge assessment contains data elements used to calculate current and future SNF QRP quality measures under the IMPACT Act.
