The Interim Payment Assessment (IPA) Item Set is encoded and transmitted to iQIES when it is deemed appropriate, by the provider, to capture changes in the resident’s status and condition and thus changes in PPS reimbursement.
The IPA is an optional PPS assessment that sets payment for remainder of the stay, beginning on the ARD of this assessment.
